Viewix is a product I built from start to finish, working as both Product Owner and engineer. The goal is to let customers control content across many screens remotely from a single interface, even when a device loses its network connection.
Problem
Display devices sit in many different locations and often have unstable connections. Managers need to update content and schedules without going on site.
Decisions
- Offline-first player: every device keeps a checksum-verified cache and never depends on the network while playing.
- Timezone-aware schedules: scheduling is calculated in each location’s own timezone.
- Multi-tenancy: data is separated per tenant and secured with JWT, scrypt and a secure keystore.
Lessons learned
B2B products need to think about operations far more than end users do. Prioritizing offline sync from the start avoided a lot of bugs later.
